Exploring the Prophetic
We started the night by encouraging everyone to remember Paul's words in 1 Thessalonians 5...
1 Thessalonians 5:19-21"19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies, 21 but test everything; hold fast what is good."
We, then, spent considerable time in worship creating an atmosphere of for Holy Spirit to move.
Coming out of worship, I shared some of my journey towards the understanding of the prophetic in my own life. I shared how weird it was for me to receive my first word.
2 Peter 1:19-21"19 And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, 20 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. 21 For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."
We, finally, spent considerable time going back and forth between practice and teaching.
