Do you know who John Hancock is?
In movie trials why do they ask, "is this your signature?"
When we gave up Beth to the humane society this week, they needed my signature... why?
Your signature is important... a signature implies ownership/responsibility.

As swimmers, we will
SATISFY this Spirit's leading.
WIN the battles of the flesh.
INHERIT the Kingdom of God.
MANIFEST the character of God.

Understanding Baptism and the Holy Spirit
o Ritual cleansing is NOT unique to John the Baptist and Jesus
o John’s was a baptism of cleansing
o Jesus’ was a baptism to receive the Holy Spirit
o Romans 6 – burial imagery
o Ephesians 1:13-14 – sealed with the Spirit (different time tables apostles, paul, Cornelius)
o Acts 2:38-42 – doesn’t end with just baptism but goes on with growth (SWIMMNG!)
o Romans 8 – battle of flesh v. spirit; led by HS = children of God (14); adopted (15)

The call today is for an adoption signing on your lives! Not just the parent wanting you, but you choosing to live with your new dad.
