Matthew 7:7-12
PRAYERFUL PERSISTENCE PAYS OFF
**“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”
**Ask ~ this means a constant habit
**Seek ~ perpetual quest
**Knock ~ be loud in your attempts
EXPECT EXCITING EXPERIENCES
**“You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.”
**Parents know what’s best.
**We’re asking a Father who knows precisely what we need.
**We’re asking a Father who has limitless resources at his disposal.
PREPARE YOUR PERSONALITY
**“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.”
**Everything that Jesus has been teaching and everything that God had been saying throughout history collide here in this “golden rule.”
**In Mark 12:30-31, Jesus essentially tells us to “love God and love people.”
**Treating others with the respect they deserve shows are love for Jesus.
