SEX part IV

March 25, 2007
SEX: "The Pure"

We attempted to take everyone on a journey of listening last night. Each of the 3 portions of the service were designed to get the audience to listen and then react to what was being "said" from the stage.

LISTENING TO WORDS ON POWERPOINT
Good evening
Tonight we want to take you on a journey
This journey begins with you listening very carefully.

God is calling us..
So,
Clear away the distractions.
Take a deep breath.
Breathe in the Holy Spirit.
Breathe out anxiety.
Breather in God's love.
Breathe out hate.
Breathe in hope.
Breathe out despair.

God is calling us...
to get real with ourselves.
If we want to approach God,
If we want to worship,
If we want to be in the Lord's presence,
Then, we must be PURE.

God is calling us...
to be pure.
to be set apart
to be...
HOLY

We need pure hearts.
We need pure minds.
We need pure hands.

TONIGHT
God is calling us to wash.
to wash away our past
to wash away our impure thoughts
to literally wash

We CANNOT begin unless we're willing to come clean
It begins with a simple trade
Our sorrows for His joy
Our pain for His laughter
Our sin for His redemption

TONIGHT
will you wash?
Will you take soap and water and wash?
Tell God simply that you will no longer live impure, but pure?

WILL YOU WASH?

If you will, then come now...
Wash your hands in the basin at the front of the room.

God is calling... are you listening?

LISTENING TO THE WORDS OF A BROTHER
Jeff came up during the middle portion of the service and encourage us to lay our sins down.
To take a piece of paper and nail it to the cross we had at the front of the room.
He did this in conjunction with us taking communion.
As we come clean and come clear of our sins, we took the bread & juice as memorial of the sacrifice and blood that have the power to make us clean.

LISTENING TO THE WORDS OF GOD
In the final portion of the service, Adam reviewed our sermon series, read serveral passages of Scripture and challenged the audience to stand up for different things.

Where have we been?
**Remember God's design for sex is a man and woman in marriage and it IS good.
**Bad sex begins when our eyes and hearts fail us.
**Ugly sex begins when our minds and bodies fail us.

Life-changing, Life-giving, and God-sized words for our lives.
**Romans 3:23-26
**Hebrews 4:14-16
**1Corinthians 6:10-11
**1Corinthians 6:20

STAND UP
**to own your purity
**to pledge your intimacy
**to claim your redemption
