OT Ravers à
Deuteronomy 6:6-9
·
I’m a social media junky: txt, blog, Twitter,
FB, Instgm, (snap)
Why in the world
would they do that?
·
Obedience – obligation – fear?
·
Today, we hope this would happen due to
revelation
My Revelation: “What
has made me a raving fan of Jesus?”
·
2 Corinthians 5:21
·
The prodigal son and the loving Father
·
Colossians
o
1:19 – in Jesus all the fullness of God was
pleased to dwell
o
1:27 – Christ in you, the hope of glory
o
2:9-10 – Fullness in Jesus, we are filled with
Him!
·
Galatians 2:20 – “crucified with Christ”
· FOR ME, the continuing revelation of the cross
of Jesus Christ just keeps getting better and better! (so I wanna be a raving
fan on social)
Our reaction to
revelation
·
Deut. 6:4-5
·
The Hebrew’s peace (shemah)
·
I gave it all up for Jesus… I gave up my “life
plan”
·
Mark 12:28-34
·
Jesus repeats the famous passage and adds the
outflow
·
Love your neighbor as you “love” or understand
the revelation about you!
The difference
·
Obedience and obligation will not change our
hearts.
·
Revelation…
o
Changes our hearts
o
So we want to fulfill God’s laws
o
We want to love God back
o
We want to love what He loves (his bride, his
people)
o
We become raving fans of HIS Kingdom!
o
Told stories of my first youth group and their
growth in Jesus.
·
You may not be regularly “shema-ed” by your
family
o
Holy Spirit inside you is your teacher.
o
Pursue the love of the Father who is pursuing
you.
o
As that love changes you… go change your world!
o
Revelation releases us into ministry
