HOW TO IDENTIFY FALSE TEACHERS
PETER SAID (II Peter 2:1-22, 3:3-5, 17)
Ø They are proud of their position.
Ø They promote sexual sins.
Ø They discredit God’s law.
TODAY WE SEE THEM
Ø Take the Bible totally out of context.
Ø Take the focus off Jesus with doctrine.
Ø Take control of large groups for their gain.
Ø Take advantage of the gullible and weak.
HOW TO COMBAT FALSE TEACHERS
PETER DID (II Peter 1:16-21, 2:1-22, 3:2-3, 15-16)
Ø Exposed their lies.
Ø Predicted their punishment.
Ø Emphasized Scripture as authority.
TODAY WE FIGHT THEM
Ø Read the Word…
Ø Study the Word…
Ø Apply the Word…
Ø To refute error, we MUST know truth.
Ø To know truth, you must spend time with Jesus!
